Corporate Responsibility

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were adopted in September 2015 as part of the Post-2015 Agenda, take into account the ecological, economic and social dimension of sustainability and involve all public, private sector and civil society actors. Following the SDGs’ adoption, nation states are now faced with the chance and challenge of their implementation. AmCham Germany has always promoted an all-encompassing approach to sustainability and corporate responsibility. AmCham Germany and its member companies endorse the environmental and social responsibilities of companies within the framework of their entrepreneurial actions. Corporate responsibility has a long tradition in the USA and for companies with a German-American background. With their diverse activities the member companies of AmCham Germany contribute to prosperity and at the same time assume responsibility to enable sustainable business practices and act in harmony with the environment and society.

The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Committee serves as a best-practice and advocacy platform for CR, sustainability and government-affairs professionals from AmCham Germany’s member companies representing all major business sectors.

AmCham Germany Diversity Champion

Sylvia Rothblum, became AmCham Germany's Diversity Champion in May 2019. Rothblum has been Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the German-Speaking Territories at Warner Bros. since 2007.

Rothblum is in charge of diversity and transparency within AmCham Germany's governing structures and will foster these topics within the Chamber's membership. She has been a member of the Chamber's Executive Committee since 2018 and was previously active in its Board of Directors.
