On May 15, 2018, AmCham Germany’s TIM Committee had the great honor to host James Sullivan, Jr., Deputy Assistant Secretary for Services, and Caitlin Fennessy, Senior Policy Advisor, of the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce for a discussion on the privacy shield and transatlantic data flows. The conversation focused on the current status quo of the privacy shield and its importance for companies to have a reliable framework for transatlantic data flows as they are key to almost every type of trade activity. The meeting was chaired and moderated by Committee Chair Dr. Nikolaus Lindner.
