TIM Committee meets with Deputy Assistant James Sullivan Jr., U.S. Department of Commerce for the second time

On May 20, 2019, AmCham Germany's TIM Committee had the great honor to host James Sullivan, Jr., Deputy Assistant Secretary for Services and Acting Assistant Secretary for Industry and Analysis, and Rochelle Osei-Tutu, Policy Analyst and Administrator, of the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Almost exactly one year after meeting with Mr. Sullivan for the first time, we welcomed him for an update on all issues regarding the status quo of the EU-US Privacy shield, transatlantic data flows and privacy initiatives in the US. In addition, we also talked about GDPR and its effects especially on SME's as well as developments towards global mechanisms for data protection.

We appreciate the time Mr. Sullivan and his colleague Rochelle Osei-Tutu took to meet with our committee members and look forward to continuing the dialogue in the future.

The meeting was moderated by our General Manager Eveline Metzen.
