Social & Labor Affairs Committee discusses Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

Frankfurt/M, 21 March, 2017: During AmCham Germany’s Social and Labor Affairs Committee Meeting, Gunda Niehaus, Procter & Gamble, and Dr. Gerlind Wisskirchen, CMS Hasche Sigle, both members of the committee, presented preliminary results of a report on artificial intelligence and robotics for the Global Employment Institute of the International Bar Association.

The chances and challenges of digitization for employers and employees cannot be solved on a national or European level but need to be tackled globally in order to ensure that a large part of the population is not left behind. The committee continued its dialogue on the future of work already started in 2016.

In addition, the Committee is currently working on a position paper on recommendations for an employment friendly labor market. The current draft of the paper was debated, amendments were discussed and the paper will be published in April. The meeting was hosted by our committee Chair, Caroline Bitsch, at the office of JUSTEM Rechtsanwälte.
