Parliamentary Healthcare and Life Sciences Breakfast on the 'Arztinformationssystem'

The German 'Arztinformationssystem' and implications for oncological treatment

February 22, 2018. AmCham Germany's Healthcare and Life Sciences Committee organized a Parliamentary Breakfast to discuss the implications of the Arztinformationssystem (physician's information system) for oncological treatment in Germany. Among the issues discussed were the importance of the proposed changes for therapeutic decisions both for patients and physicians.

During the breakfast, different perspectives on the topic where provided by our guest speakers Prof. Dr. Med. Bernhard Wörmann, Charité Berlin, Medizinischer Leiter DGHO e.V., PD Dr. med. Thomas Zander, Klinik I für Innere Medizin, Universität Köln und Netzwerkkoordinator Darmkrebszentrum im Centrum für Integrative Onkologie Köln Bonn, Doris C. Schmitt, member of the board at PATH and Dr. Martin Danner, General Manager at BAG Selbsthilfe.

The discussion gave the participants of the healthcare committee of the German Bundestag the opportunity to share their own views and suggestions on the topic.

The breakfast took place at the Deutsche Parlamentarische Gesellschaft in Berlin.
