IRC Members Discuss Transatlantic Innovation Cooperation with US Embassy Representative

Members of the Innovation & Research Committee met with Dan Froats, Economic Counselor at the US Embassy, on March 20, 2018. Focusing on strengthening transatlantic innovation cooperation between Germany and the United States, members in attendance reviewed the German coalition agreement to identify connecting factors for even closer cooperation to address common challenges. Among these challenges are climate change and energy security, population aging, global health and security. Additionally, best practices from the two innovation systems and policies were exchanged and discussed, such as the aspects of venture capital and long-term cooperation between industry and research institutions.
