The discussion focused on innovation and digital policy issues. In order to tackle the challenges for innovation and technological progress, cooperation is not only necessary on a European but also on a transatlantic level.
The government’s high-tech strategy, the Agentur für Sprunginnovation, SDG’s role as guidelines for political actions and the role of sustainability in digitalization were amongst the other issues talked about during the meeting. Dr. Christmann pointed out that industry and innovation policy are compatible with green politics and that digitalization and climate questions will be the two key issues in the coming years.
The constructive and insightful meeting with Dr. Christmann was moderated by the Committee's Chair Stephan Schraff, Bayer.
