On May 10, 2017 Dr. Gesa Miehe-Nordmeyer, Leiterin G7/G20 Sherpa-Stab at the Federal Chancellery met with members of AmCham Germany‘s Environment & Energy Committee to speak about Germany’s G20 presidency  and the policy areas the Group of Twenty will focus on under German leadership.  Furthermore, Dr. Miehe-Nordmeyer granted insights into the work of the German sherpa staff and talked about chances and challenges for the agenda and the negotiations at the Summit in Hamburg.

Although the G20 constitutes a rather informal forum for international cooperation, Dr. Miehe-Nordmeyer stressed that its commitments and decisions are highly relevant and influential and trigger reforms on a national and multinational level.

AmCham Germany thanks Dr. Gesa Miehe-Nordmeyer for her time and looks forward to continuing the dialogue in the future.
