AmCham Germany Tax Committee discusses current tax developments

On January 16, 2018, AmCham Germany's Tax Committee held its first committee meeting of 2018. During the meeting, members discussed a possible Digital Tax, BEBS Reporting and Reportable Cross-Border Transaction (DAC 6). After participating in the public consultation on Digital Tax, members voted to issue a position emphasizing the committee's proposals on taxing the digital economy, and to release statements on DAC 6 as well as the proposal of the European Commission for a Single VAT Area.

Prof. Dr. Joachim Englisch,Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, gave a presentation on US Tax Reform in which he highlighted the coming changes and their effects on multinational corporations. The group also exchanged views with a representative of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
