AmCham Germany Aerospace & Defense Committee Discusses CSU Defense Policy

On February 28, members of AmCham Germany's Aerospace & Defense Committee met with Florian Hahn (CSU), member of the German parliament and the defense committee, in Berlin. Mr. Hahn and the meeting attendees discussed the results of the negotiated coalition agreement, focusing on the implications for the defense sector. The budgetary agreements concerning the German Armed Forces, German arms export policies and arms export controls were also discussed. During the meeting, Mr. Hahn stressed that while Germany is moving towards a military independence, it still remains committed to the transatlantic defense relationship: industrial cooperation and free trade between Germany and the United States remain indispensable for the well-being of both countries.
