AmCham Germany is gearing up for this year's Annual Membership Meeting, which will take place on May 17, 2019 in Hamburg. Keeping in line with the motto “Urban Supply Chain – The City of Tomorrow in a Globalized World”, we will look at the smart city concept from a transatlantic perspective and discuss its potential to revolutionize the way we move, do business, and interact with each other.

The conference will feature concrete examples of how corporations shape the city of tomorrow from our event partners Equinix, KPMG, Shell, and Siemens. Stakeholders from both Germany and the U.S. will offer perspectives on how digitization and the smart city impact our communities on both sides of the Atlantic. We particularly look forward to welcoming First Mayor Dr. Peter Tschentscher for a presentation of Hamburg as a mobility hub of the future.

Peter Beyer, Coordinator of Transatlantic Cooperation at the Federal Foreign Office will conclude this year’s Annual Membership Meeting with his keynote speech during the dinner at the International Maritime Museum.

We encourage you to take this opportunity and engage with us in a meaningful exchange with representatives from business, industry, think tanks, media and government.

We'll also be focusing on this topic in our next issue of commerce germany - for example, in an exclusive interview with Dr. Matthias Winkenbach, Director MIT MegaCity Logistics Lab. Stay tuned for its publication on May 9, 2019.
