Celebrating the US Independence Day is a fun and traditional annual event of many AmCham Germany chapters throughout Germany. For the first time, the Thuringia Chapter celebrated the 4th of July with an exclusive tour through the UPS terminal. Guests were given a look behind the scenes in the logistics world. The tour guided guests through the innovative parcel terminal in order to see how operations run on a day-to-day basis.

Our members in the Rhine-Main Chapter also had a great time celebrating Independence Day on the beautiful terrace of Schlosshotel Kronberg. David Elmo, Deputy Consul General also attended the event and said: "I'd like to thank AmCham Germany not only for organizing this celebration, but for the incredible work you do every day. Your efforts and the businesses you support help us create a deeper partnership between Germany and the US, in which goods and ideas are freely exchanged. For this, I want to extend a big Thank you."

In our Baden-Württemberg Chapter, members and friends of the Chamber met with the Stuttgart Reds Baseball Team. Many families attended and had a great time getting to know the baseball team and the coaches.

Another summer event took place in the Bavaria Chapter where AmCham Germany and the Amerikahaus München invited numerous guests to their annual Jazz Barbecue in Munich. While enjoying a typical American barbecue, music was provided by Claus Reichstaller and ENJI & The Mongolian Rising Stars. Prof. Claus Reichstaller is the director of the Jazz Institute at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich and a renowned jazz trumpeter. ENJI & The Mongolian Rising Stars is a formation of highly talented Mongolian students.

As its tradition, our Saxony Chapter Dresden celebrated the International Summer Barbecue together with several other chambers and business clubs at Restaurant Kastenmaiers at Kurländer Palais. Oliver Schenk, Chief of the State Chancellery and State Minister at the State Chancellery of Saxony, gave welcome remarks and also greeted the guests on behalf of Minister President Kretschmer. This year, Emily Norris, Consul for Political and Economic Affairs, represented the US Consulate General in Leipzig, and also welcomed the distinguished attendees. Alongside lively conversations and delicious culinary experiences our guests enjoyed one of the last days of summertime spirit.
