On September 11, 2018, AmCham Germany had the opportunity to host Google's Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer, Philipp Schindler, for an exclusive lunch roundtable discussion at Restaurant Borchardt. Philipp Schindler is one of the most successful Germans in Silicon Valley. He has been with Google since 2005 and has greatly contributed to the successful development of the company.
During the meeting, Philipp Schindler talked about his experiences in the US and presented his visions for how the German economy can accelerate the process of digital change. In the lively discussion, participants from the German Bundestag, our member companies, digital pioneers, as well as organizations such as VDA, DIW and BDA exchanged ideas on whether Silicon Valley can function as a best practice example for the digitalization of the German economy. They also discussed how potential can be used and challenges overcome in a transatlantic and global context.
