In front of more than 200 attendees, Dirk Hoke, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space and member of the Board of Directors of AmCham Germany, spoke about “European Defence Collaboration - The only way to guarantee European autonomy in security and defence policy”. He addressed the question what Europe would have to do to remain competitive as the European security and defence policy is at risk of falling behind global competition. Hoke presented two solutions: the EuroDrone and FCAS - the Future Combat Air System. FCAS is much more than 'just' a new fighter aircraft. It is Europe’s most important defence program for the coming decades. FCAS will act as a catalyst for European sovereignty and will ensure a fair and balanced setup between all partner nations.
The speech was followed by a question and answer session and a reception on site. AmCham Germany thanks its Event Partner Airbus SE for its generous support.
