AmCham Germany’s Trade Committee Discusses Implication of US Tariffs with US Embassy

Meeting with Clark Price, Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs at the US Embassy

On March 8, members of the AmCham Germany Trade Committee met with Clark Price, Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs at the US Embassy, in Berlin. The discussion focused on the impending import tariffs imposed by President Trump on steel and aluminum. Mr. Price and the meeting attendees discussed the ramifications these tariffs could have on both sides of the Atlantic. Further talking points included the future of NAFTA, the role of the WTO and the possibility of a renewal of the TTIP negotiations. The meeting concluded with all participants stressing the value of free trade and reiterating the importance of ongoing dialogue between the transatlantic partners.
