AmCham Germany Trade Committee Discusses Status of US-German Trade Relations

On December 12, 2017, the AmCham Germany Trade Committee met with Dr. Berend Diekmann of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy. Dr. Diekmann gave a detailled overview on US-German trade relations and underlined the importance and magnitude of German investment in the United States. The Committee further discussed the prospect of a new free trade agreement between the EU and US, as well as the implications of Brexit for the trade relationship between the EU and US. The attendees concluded that further transatlantic cooperation is indispensable for a strong and stable partnership.
