Business After Hours: Unlocking the Power of AI for Transatlantic Business

On September 6, 2023, AmCham Germany’s Regional Chapter Bavaria hosted a Business After Hours event titled “Unlocking the Power of AI for Transatlantic Business.” Attendees gathered at AmCham Germany member AlixPartners in Munich to explore the transformative impact of AI and how German and US businesses can leverage it for growth.

Welcome Remarks were given by Claudia Donzelmann, Global Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs at Allianz SE and Co-Chair of the Regional Chapter Bavaria. Philipp Meske, representing AlixPartners, then took the stage to set the agenda and introduce the distinguished lineup of speakers.

Partner & Managing Director at AlixPartners, Jochen Gottschalk, along with Oli Mihatsch, Director at AlixPartners, led an enlightening discussion on "Demystifying AI." Their combined expertise provided valuable insights into the intricacies of AI, debunking myths, and highlighting its potential applications in business.

Adrien Boyer and Alex Schlaubitz from NAX then led an engaging discussion on "Turning AI into Business." In their insightful presentation, they not only explored the exciting opportunities offered by AI, but also introduced an upcoming product from NAX named Zero3. This groundbreaking AI-powered platform is poised to revolutionize industries by effectively reducing value chain emissions, thus making a significant contribution to sustainability.

Finally, Katharine Shaw-Paffett, Partner Strategy Lead for Data & AI at Microsoft Germany, delivered an enriching talk on "Hyper-personalization using Gen-AI." Her insights provided a glimpse into the future of AI-driven personalization, demonstrating its potential to reshape the transatlantic business landscape across sectors. She also emphasized the importance of "turning the hype into opportunities," highlighting how practical applications of AI can unlock new possibilities and drive sustainable growth for businesses. In her presentation, she shared valuable insights into Microsoft's value-adding use cases, showcasing how their innovative AI solutions are already transforming industries and driving actionable results.

Following the program, attendees were invited to a "Transatlantic BBQ" and networking session. This provided an excellent opportunity for guests to further discuss the evening's topics, forge new connections, and strengthen existing partnerships.
