On September 17, 2026, we came together with our members and friends from North Rhine-Westphalia for our annual Summer Barbecue in Meerbusch. Our barbecue served as the perfect backdrop to acknowledge the strong personal and business ties between North Rhine-Westphalia and the U.S. - accompanied by fantastic food and great company.
We were especially honored to welcome our distinguished guests Acting Deputy Chief of Mission for the U.S. Mission to Germany Scott Weinhold and U.S. Consul General Preeti Shah from the U.S. Consulate General Düsseldorf. After opening remarks by our Regional Chapter Chairs Stefanie Siebels and Dr. Marc Seeger, our members and guests gained further insights from Acting Deputy Chief of Mission for the U.S. Mission to Germany Scott Weinhold, AmCham Germany President Christopher F. Porter, and Brian Blackader (Partner at McKinsey & Company).
Of course, no summer barbecue would be complete without a bit of American flair. Our guests enjoyed a hands-on introduction to baseball led by the Mönchengladbach Blackcaps, and the atmosphere was made even more memorable by a musical performance by students from the ISR International School on the Rhine.
