NextGen Berlin Day 2026

On March 5, 2026, we welcomed participants of the current NextGen cohort for their Berlin Day as a key part of AmCham Germany’s NextGen annual program.

The agenda featured a diverse set of meetings, offering the NextGens the opportunity to discuss topics of key relevance to the transatlantic partnership and engage with leaders from business, diplomacy, media, and AmCham Germany’s membership. Throughout the day, one message stood out clearly: while evolving and being reshaped, the transatlantic economic partnership remains a fundamental for both Germany and the U.S. and a stronghold for both partners.

The program began with an insightful meeting at AmCham Germany’s Berlin office, where participants met with Daniel Andrich (General Manager) and Nina Englert (Regional Chair of AmCham Germany’s Berlin-Brandenburg Chapter; and Dealer Principal, BMW Berlin). Discussions covered current transatlantic priorities, developments in bilateral economic cooperation, and recent developments in the global automotive sector.

At the U.S. Embassy Berlin, the cohort continued the day program with a meeting with Minister Counselors Michael Sullivan and Nathan Seifert. The exchange provided valuable perspectives on the enduring strength of transatlantic ties, emphasizing the shared values that underpin the relationship and the significant economic prosperity generated on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Berlin Day also included a visit hosted by AmCham Germany member company Burgermeister. During a lunch reception at the company’s Mehringdamm location, Leander Brune (COO) introduced participants to Burgermeister’s iconic history, distinctive brand identity, and ambitious expansion plans, while highlighting and sharing the culinary uniqueness that defines the company.

The group proceeded to the Berlin office of AmCham Germany’s institutional partner, the Munich Security Conference, where Marcel Lewicki (Director of Partnerships and Development) offered behind-the-scenes insights into the complex coordination and strategic goals to deliver one of the world’s leading policy forums—just a couple of weeks after the conclusion of this year’s conference.

To round off the day, the cohort visited AmCham Germany’s partner POLITICO’s Berlin newsroom and office space overlooking the city. Journalists Carlotta Diederich and Felix Flanderka engaged the group in a discussion about their daily work in political journalism and shared perspectives on the evolving dynamics between politics, media, and transatlantic affairs.

On the eve of the Berlin Day, AmCham Germany member company EY hosted a networking reception that brought together cohort participants and company leadership. Jan-Rainer Hinz (Managing Partner Talent & Culture Germany), and Andreas Butz (Talent Leader Germany), shared valuable leadership insights and personal career lessons with the NextGens.

We kindly thank all partners and member companies for supporting this year’s NextGen Berlin Day and for providing valuable insights that made the day program a success. The current cohort especially valued the wide-ranging and exclusive takeaways of the experience and now looks ahead with excitement to the upcoming alumni event on May 18, 2026, and the Annual Membership Meeting in Stuttgart on May 19, 2026.
