On August 26, we hosted our annual International Summer Business Barbecue in Dresden together with our members, friends and distinguished guests from Saxony and beyond. Our barbecue provided us with the perfect opportunity to reflect on the strong personal and business relations between the United States and the Free State of Saxony while also enjoying good food and good company.
Among our distinguished guests and speakers were Minister of State Elisabeth Kaiser, Member of the German Bundestag, Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Germany; U.S. Consul General Jodi Breisler, U.S. Consulate General Leipzig; AmCham Germany's recently elected President Christopher F. Porter; and Oliver Schenk, Member of the European Parliament.
During an exchange conducted by our Regional Chapter Chair Prof. Dr. Heribert Heckschen, our guests were also able to gain further insights from two leading AmCham Germany members in the region - Forvis Mazars (represented by Jan Kochta) and General Atomics Europe (represented by Harald Robl).
Our Summer Business Barbecue in Dresden is one of our annual highlights in the region and underscores the importance of strong transatlantic business ties. The United States remains one of Saxony's most important economic partners and, in 2025, was the region's largest export market outside the European Union.
A big thank you to all our speakers, members, guests and Kastenmeiers Catering GmbH & Co. KG for making this year's barbecue a success! In particular, we'd like to thank our Platinum Sponsors Forvis Mazars and General Atomics Europe, our Gold Sponsors eureos gmbh steuerberatungsgesellschaft rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft, Nexia and Saxony Trade & Invest Corp., our Silver Sponsors BELCHEM GmbH, LBBW and ROTOP Pharmaka GmbH, and our Mobility Partner Uber for Business.
