A bit of rain couldn’t get in the way of our annual International Summer Business Barbecue on August 28 in Dresden! Together with our guests, members, and friends, we gathered at the Kurländer Palais for an evening full of transatlantic connections, networking and input.
After a greeting and introduction by Prof. Dr. Heribert Heckschen, Regional Chapter Chair Saxony, our guests were treated to keynotes and remarks by Dr. Andreas Handschuh (Chief of the State Chancellery of Saxony and State Secretary for Federal and European Affairs, Free State of Saxony), U.S. Consul General John R. Crosby (U.S. Consulate General Leipzig) and Oliver Schenk, Member of the European Parliament. All of our speakers emphasized the importance of cultivating strong transatlantic ties based on the already firm foundation of business relations between the U.S. and Saxony and beyond. This sentiment was echoed by representatives of member companies such as Susann Philipp (Forvis Mazars) and Harald Robl (General Atomics Europe).
