On March 13, 2023, in the wake of International Women’s Day, the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany, Holtzbrinck Berlin and the U.S. Embassy Berlin teamed up to offer a special virtual event with LaToya Rose, Senior Vice President, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Macmillan Publishers. We were delighted that Nicole Schlautmann, General Manager, Pfizer Austria, and Co-Chair of the Pfizer Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Council Europe, joined the discussion and brought in the European perspective.
Both experts shared objectives, strategies, and initiatives on how to create a more inclusive organization and their experiences with implementing DEI in policies and procedures. The conversation was moderated by Celia Parbey, Editor for ZEIT ONLINE and Editor-in-Chief of RosaMag, and included an Introduction by Izaak Martin, Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy Berlin, as well as Closing Remarks by Aylin Tüzel, AmCham Germany Chapter Chair Berlin-Brandenburg.
In the United States, March is celebrated as Women's History Month, a time to honor the achievements and contributions of women throughout history and acknowledge the ongoing fight for gender equality.
