Healthcare and Life Sciences Committee meets with the leader of the Young Group of the CDU/CSU-Parliamentary Group, Mark Hauptmann, MdB

On February 20, 2019, members of our Healthcare and Life Sciences Committee welcomed Mark Hauptmann, MdB, leader of the Young Group of the CDU/CSU-Parliamentary Group and member of the party executive to discuss the Young Group's ideas on e-health in Germany. The Young Group has recently published a paper on how to make Germany a sustainable e-health location.

The open and constructive exchange focused on the five propositions made in the paper: increase the acceptance for digital innovation in the area of healthcare, make data more usable and make the donation of data possible, make digital health apps available for everyone regardless of the type of healthcare insurance, implement the electronic patient files and e-prescription in a timely manner, strengthen telemedicine and improve reimbursement. Mark Hauptmann emphasized that it is vital for Germans to put more trust into digitalization, as it represents big opportunities for healthcare and patients. The meeting was hosted and moderated by Dr. Gerd Kräh.
