Deep Dive Session hosted by KPMG

“The Future of Customs – How Wars and Geopolitical Tensions are Impacting Customs Operations”

Against a backdrop of trade wars, sanctions and rising geopolitical tensions, customs is rapidly becoming a strategic lever for resilience and competitiveness. This deep dive session explores how customs operations are evolving—from the shift to paperless trade and the EU Customs Data Hub under the revised Union Customs Code, to the growing importance of non‑preferential rules of origin and the question of what “Made in EU” really means today. In a panel discussion, we will connect these regulatory and technological developments with real‑world impacts on tariffs, supply chains and the use of digital solutions to navigate an increasingly complex trade environment.
