While global supply chains have become the norm in many industries and the term "corporate responsibility" has long made it into everyday conversation mandatory legal requirements and enforcement in this field are relatively new and developing rapidly, in particular regarding human rights, forced labor, and social compliance. At the same time, consumers are becoming ever more mindful of ethical implications of their purchasing behavior. Public opinion expects companies to assume responsibility for sourcing practices not only in their home countries, but also abroad. Meeting these stakeholder demands and increase in legislation is not only a challenge, but also an opportunity for many companies.

In this Expert Webinar hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham Germany) and organized in cooperation with its Executive member CMS Hasche Sigle, we will take a closer look at the recent and upcoming legal developments in the European Union, Germany and the United States and their practical implications for companies.

Our experts Mollie Sitkowski, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, Chicago, Daniel Crampton, business & human rights consultant and former Human Rights Manager at Daimler AG, Stuttgart, and Dr. Christoph Schröder, CMS in Hamburg, will present the most important developments and discuss what business leaders need to know and be prepared for. The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Andreas Lohbeck, CMS in Stuttgart, and Member of the Corporate & Business Law Steering Committee and of the NextGen Program Steering Committee of AmCham Germany.
