In light of the new US-Administration and alongside the goal of revitalizing the transatlantic relationship, AmCham Germany has launched a new virtual event series, Transatlantic Talks 2021: Paving the Path Ahead. We are honored to welcome former Senator Barbara Boxer and former Congressman Charles Boustany, Jr., M.D. as they kick off this series on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

Senator Barbara Boxer served in Congress for thirty-four years, during twenty-four of which she represented California in the United States Senate. In 2017, she was succeeded by California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who now serves as the 49th Vice President of the United States. Senator Boxer has also been a member of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations under its previous Chairman Joseph R. Biden, Jr., now President of the United States of America. Currently, she is Co-Chair at Mercury, based in their Los Angeles office.

Congressman Charles Boustany, Jr., M.D. served Louisiana's 7th district from 2005-2013 and the 3rd district from 2013-2017, following the elimination of Louisiana's 7th district. During his twelve years in Congress, Dr. Boustany served on the House Ways and Means Committee and was Chairman of the Subcommittee on Tax Policy. He is currently a partner at Capitol Counsel LLC, based in Washington, DC, where he focuses on healthcare, tax, and trade issues.
