Frank Sportolari Re-elected as AmCham Germany’s President


Roland Boekhout, Ralf Brinkmann, Petra Jumpers, Simone Menne and Andreas Schwaiger confirmed as Members of the Board of AmCham Germany

Berlin, November 26, 2020 – Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham Germany) confirmed the incumbent President Frank Sportolari and elected other functionaries to their respective governing bodies of the organization. 

Frank Sportolari has been President of AmCham Germany for two years. As a communicator and networker, Sportolari is deeply committed to the transatlantic cooperation and is an esteemed partner for politics and business in both sides of the Atlantic.

‘‘I am delighted to be re-elected as AmCham Germany’s President and will actively commit with AmCham members to deepening the transatlantic business relations,’’ says Sportolari. Sportolari, who is US-American and lives in Germany, has been the President of UPS for Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 2011. Previously, Sportolari lived in Italy and Spain and was an active member in the respective chambers of commerce.

In January 2020, Roland Boekhout joined the Executive Board of Commerzbank and is responsible for the Corporate Clients Segment of the company. Since 2017, Boekhout had been Member of the Board of ING Group.

From 2012 to 2016, Simone Menne was Chief Financial Officer at Lufthansa, subsequently followed by becoming the head of the Finance Division at Boehringer Ingelheim. She is also member of the Supervisory Board of BMW, Deutsche Post, Johnson Controls International, and Russell Reynolds and serves on the audit committees of these companies.

When Ralf Brinkmann became the President of Dow DACH, Central Europe and Russia, and Chairman of the Board of Dow Germany, he took over the responsibility to advance Dow’s growth strategy in the region and strengthen its foothold within Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India.  

In September 2019, Petra Jumpers was named President and General Manager of Eli Lilly and Company, Germany Hub, after her occupation as General Manager for Eli Lilly Taiwan. In Taiwan, she served as Deputy Chairperson of the Executive Board of AmCham Taipei. Further, Jumpers was Co-Chairperson of AmCham Taipei’s Pharmaceutical Committee until her return to Germany in 2019.

In his position as General Manager of Texas Instruments Germany, Andreas Schwaiger directs all business activities of the company in Germany in addition to his leading role as Director in the Division Finance & Operations for EMEA, Asia, and Japan.
