On Thursday, February 8, 2018, AmCham Germany hosted its annual New Year's reception at the US Consulate General in Hamburg. Consul General Richard Yoneoka welcomed the attendees before the main speaker, , Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, Commanding General (ret.), US Army Europe,
spoke about the challenges and oppurtunities in transatlantic relations in 2018.
AmCham Germany General Manager Eveline Y. Metzen concluded with a speech discussing the past year in transatlantic relations and for the Chamber, as well as the hopes and expectations for economic relations in the new year.
