AmCham Germany Forum "The impact of tariffs and tax on the transatlantic economic relationship"

Engaging speeches by Prof. Welf Werner, Professor of American Studies at Heidelberg University and Dr. Christoph Kiegler, Partner Tax at KPMG AG Mannheim

On Wednesday, June 20, 2018, AmCham Germany with Axel Isele, Regional Committee Chair of the AmCham Germany Rhine-Neckar-Triangle, hosted a forum event on the impact of tariffs and tax on the transatlantic economic relationship.

The evening event was hosted in cooperation with the Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA) and KPMG AG Mannheim. Two engaging speeches focused on recent developments in the economic relationship between the US and Europe: Prof. Welf Werner, Professor of American Studies at Heidelberg University, discussed the reasons for and objections against the current US-American Trade and Fiscal policy. Dr. Christoph Kiegler, Partner Tax at KPMG AG Mannheim, explained the entrepreneurial and consultant side of view on the new US tax and tariff regulations.

Subsequently, the guests exchanged views on the freshly-gained insights into US economic policies in a networking reception and a flying dinner at the marvelous garden of Curt and Heidemarie Engelhorn Palais.
