On May 29, 2019, Axel Isele, Chair of the AmCham Germany Chapter Rhine-Neckar-Triangle, had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Barry Eichengreen, Professor of Economics and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, as the speaker at the Forum in the prestigious Alte Aula of the University of Heidelberg. The event was organized in cooperation with the Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA).

Prof. Eichengreen is regarded as one of the most reowned analysts of global economy. His research focus is on history and current operation of the international monetary and financial system. With this background Prof. Eichengreen spoke about "The Populist Temptation - Economic Grievance and Political Reaction in the Modern Era". This speech was followed by an excklusive dinner for the AmCham Germany's guests.
