Transatlantic Relations

Europe and the United States look back on a long and strong relationship that is not only based on the economy, but shared values and beliefs. Two areas of crucial importance that symbolize this deep and successful cooperation and will help to overcome future challenges: trade and security policies.

As the most important economic policy project in the near future, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) has enormous potential and the capacity to generate millions of new jobs and boost economic output on both sides of the Atlantic. AmCham Germany is actively engaged in the TTIP negotiations, maintaining strong connections with decision-makers in Berlin, Brussels and Washington. It is important that all voices are heard in the process, including those of small and medium-sized enterprises as well as multinational corporations.

The aerospace and defense industry has been living transatlantic cooperation for over sixty years and has created multiple success stories. This sector has proven that competition and open markets do not only guarantee cost-effectiveness, but enhance and simplify transatlantic cooperation programs.
