The Government Relations Committee (GRC) is AmCham Germany's primary policy committee for contacts with the German government at both the federal and state level. The Committee is also the leading force for the Chamber's discussion on the improvement of Germany as an investment location.

Parliamentary Reception “Parliament meets US Investors” – Presentation of the results of the VII. AmCham Business Barometer, April 20, 2010, Berlin:
For the seventh time, AmCham Germany presented the results of its annual study on the evaluation of Germany as a business location from the perspective of US investors in conjunction with a Parliamentary Evening in Berlin. Besides the presentation of the Business Barometer, the US Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Philip D. Murphy, and Kimberly Lein-Mathisen, General Manager of Lilly Deutschland GmbH, spoke to the many present Members of Parliament.

Joint Government Relations (GRC) / Telecommunications, Internet, and Media (TIM) Committee Meeting with Hans-Joachim Otto, MdB, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, March 15, 2010:
The two committees jointly met with State Secretary Otto in Berlin and discussed topics ranging from the Law against Restraints of Competition to issues surrounding intellectual property law, internet service provider liability, expansion of broadband infrastructure and telecommunications for business customers.
Government Relations Committee Meeting with Eduard Oswald, MdB, Chairperson of the Committee for Economic Affairs and Technology in the German Bundestag, January 29, 2010.
Committee members had the opportunity to discuss issues ranging from the current situation of the automobile industry to Germany’s digital agenda and energy policy with the new Chairman of the Committee for Economic Affairs and Technology, Eduard Oswald, MdB.
On May 6, 2009 AmCham Germany presented a position paper outlining its vision for Germany as Europe’s most successful economy in the year 2020 at a Parliamentary Breakfast at the Deutsche Parlamentarische Gesellschaft (PG) in Berlin. The paper, published with a view to the upcoming federal elections in September, outlines in a 10-point program the decisions that need to be taken today to set the course for achieving this ambitious goal.

For the sixth time, AmCham Germany presented the results of its annual study on the evaluation of Germany as a business location from the perspective of US investors in conjunction with a Parliamentary Evening in Berlin. Besides the presentation, the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy, John M. Koenig, gave an overview of transatlantic relations under the new US administration,
and Ferdinando Beccalli-Falco, President and CEO of GE International, spoke on “A New View to Globalization.”
Joint Government Relations (GRC) / Social and Labor Affairs Committee Meeting with Gerald Weiß, MdB, Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs of the Bundestag.
In the course of the meeting on September 26, 2008, members of the committees first had the chance to discuss topics such as minimum wages and deregulation with Member of Parliament Gerald Weiß, who then gave an outlook on the Christian Democrat’s social and labor affairs agenda.

On June 25, 2008, the two committees met with State Secretary Wöhrl in Berlin and discussed topics ranging from issues surrounding postal and telecommunications markets to public procurement law.
