AmCham Germany bids farewell to Ambassador John B. Emerson

On Friday, December 16, 2016, AmCham Germany organized a Farewell Luncheon in Frankfurt am Main for the departing US Ambassador to Germany, John B. Emerson, together with the Steuben-Schurz-Gesellschaft and the American-German Business Club.

Both Bernhard Mattes, President of AmCham Germany, and David Knower, Vice President of AmCham Germany, Vice President of the Steuben-Schurz-Gesellschaft, and President of the AGBC Chapter Frankfurt, applauded the Ambassador for his unwavering support of German-American relations and his steadfast commitment to the transatlantic partnership in front of roughly 150 attendees.

In his farewell speech, Ambassador Emerson underscored the importance of strong relations between Germany and the US - particularly with regard to the various geopolitical challenges that both countries face - and noted that Germany will remain an important ally for the United States for years to come.

John B. Emerson presented his credentials to German President Joachim Gauck in August 2013. Since assuming his duties as US Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, he has simultaneously served as Honorary President of AmCham Germany.
