On April 11, 2024, AmCham Germany’s Chapter Saxony welcomed participants of a Former Members of Congress delegation to Dresden.

Welcome remarks were given by U.S. Consul General John R. Crosby, U.S. Consulate General Leipzig, and AmCham Germany Regional Chapter Chair, Prof. Dr. Heribert Heckschen. The exchange covered topics such as the status of transatlantic relations, views on Russian aggression against Ukraine and the need for support from the U.S., the potential impact of the elections in the U.S. as well as in Saxony, the effects of the Inflation Reduction Act, and the relationship of the EU and the U.S. towards China.

Among others, the delegation was comprised by Former Members of Congress Cheri Bustos (D-IL, 2013-2023), Barbara Comstock (R-VA, 2015-2019), Charlie Dent (R-PA, 2005-2018), Bart Gordon (D-TN, 1985-2011), Ron Kind (D-WI, 1997-2003) and Fred Upton (R-MI, 1987-2023).
