  • Members and Friends of AmCham Germany welcomed the new year 2010 at the Hotel de Rome in Berlin on January 26. Speakers included Norbert Quinkert, Executive Vice President of AmCham Germany, and Dr. Ulrich Nußbaum, Senator fuer Finanzen der Stadt Berlin.
  • Members and Friends of AmCham Germany braved the winter weather to celebrate 2010 at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof on January 29. US Consul General Edward Alford welcomed the participants.
  • Gathering at the Heinrich Schütz Residenz, AmCham Germany's Saxony Chapter welcomed 2010 on January 29th. Speakers included Staatsminister Sven Morlok, Former US Ambassador John C. Kornblum and US Consul General Katherine Brucker.
  • BMW hosted members of AmCham Germany on January 25th for a New Year's celebration. Staatsminister Georg Fahrenschon and Dr. Friedrich Eichiner of BMW Group welcomed the festive crowd.
  • Held on January 21st, AmCham Germany's Lower Saxony chapter gathered at Börsen AG to ring in the new year. Dr. Sandra Lüth of Börsen AG and Dr. Peter Degenkolb of Honeywell Specialty Chemicals spoke to the crowd.
  • AmCham Germany's Northern Bavaria Chapter invited friends to gather at the Nürnberger Akademie on January 20th. Former chief economist of Deutsche Bank, Prof. Dr. Norbert Walter, spoke to the crowd.
  • Friends and Members of the Düsseldorf Chapter gatherd on January 15 at the Hilton Hotel Düsseldorf to celebrate the New Year. Oberbürgermeister Dirk Elbers joined the festivities and participants donated for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
  • Hans-Peter Villis of EnBW Energy spoke about global solutions in a globalized world to attendees of this New Year's Reception on January 12th at L-Bank in Stuttgart.
  • On Dec. 17, 2009, the AmCham Germany Telecommunications, Internet, and Media (TIM) Committee held a Parliamentary Breakfast, discussing key measures for growth and employment in the information and telecommunications industries.

  • In conclusion to the Third Annual Transatlantic Conference on Nov. 12, 2009, AmCham Germany hosted President of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet, for a special dinner at the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel.
  • AmCham Germany hosted Carl-Peter Forster, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Adam Opel GmbH, at this President's Dinner on Sep. 16, 2009 in Frankfurt am Main.
  • On Sep. 16, 2009, Automotive experts gathered at the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel for several discussion rounds and speeches regarding the future of the automobile industry.
  • Hosted by E.R. Capital Holding, the AmCham Germany Board of Directors held their meeting on the historic Rickmer Rickmers. Dr. Gunnar Bender received the Service Excellence Award and Hans-Ulrich Klose, MdB, was awarded the AmCham Germany Silver Award.
  • Together with event partner TRW Automotive, AmCham Germany welcomed members and their families to celebrate Independence Day with food, music and family fun at the Landhaus-Terassen in Hanover.
  • AmCham Germany members and guests gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel for a summer BBQ sponsored also by American Airlines, Coca-Cola Deutschland and AIG Europe. USAF Ramstein Base Honor Guard opened the Summer-BBQ with a flag ceremony and families enjoyed food from the grill.

  • AmCham Germany, together with Xerox GmbH, hosted an Executive Roundtable at the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf on 16, June 2009. Anne Mulcahy, Chairman and CEO of the Xerox Corporation, Franz Rother, Editor of Ressort Technik + Wissen for the Newspaper "Wirtschaftswoche" and Prof. Dieter Harhoff, Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität München joined AmCham Germany President Fred B. Irwin on stage to lead the forum discussion.
  • Dr. Andreas Penk, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung, Pfizer Deutschland GmbH und President Pfizer Oncology Europe sprach über das Thema “Herausforderung ‚Krebs’: Wie Forschung Zukunft gestaltet”. Der Vortrag fand am 10. Juni 2009 mit freundlicher Unterstützung von Brand Associates und Berlin Marriott Hotel statt.
  • Bernhard Mattes, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung, Ford-Werke GmbH, diskutierte mit Mitgliedern und Gästen der Amerikanischen Handelskammer in Deutschland über das Thema “Die Automobilindustrie im Wandel – Strategien für eine nachhaltige Zukunft”. Die Veranstaltung fand am 26. Mai 2009 mit freundlicher Unterstützung von GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten im Maritim proArte Hotel in Berlin statt.
  • Dr. Frank Appel, Vorstandsvorsitzender Deutsche Post AG, Sachsens Ministerpräsident Stanislaw Tillich und Hartmut Ostrowski, Chairman und CEO der Bertelsmann AG gehörten zu den Gastrednern auf der Jahrestagung von AmCham Germany am 8. Mai in Dresden.
  • Nicolas Jeissing, Geschäftsführer Engel & Völkers Commercial sprach über das Thema “Chancen und Risiken auf dem Berliner Immobilienmarkt”. Die Veranstaltung fand am 22. April 2009 im Berliner Büro Engel & Völkers Commercial statt.
