5th Annual Transatlantic Business Conference

On November 8-9, 2011, the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany, the F.A.Z.-Institut, the Federation of German Industries BDI and the TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) Initiative will host the Annual Transatlantic Business Conference “The Transatlantic Marketplace: Challenges and Opportunities Beyond 2011” at the Marriott Hotel in Frankfurt for the fifth time.

An outstanding networking opportunity for leading executives, financial decision makers and high-ranking politicians, the annual fall conference explores critically important issues facing the transatlantic economic relationship. This year’s conference couldn’t come at a more opportune time: the transatlantic partnership seems to be deteriorating as the United States and Europe remain preoccupied with domestic politics and their own respective economic problems. With exciting presentations, podium discussions featuring international panelists and distinguished speakers as well as in-depth practical workshops, the event aims to promote transatlantic dialogue and breathe new life into the long-standing relationship.

This year, the conference will be opened by Harald Leibrecht, MdB, Coordinator for Transatlantic Cooperation. Featured speakers include Nani Beccalli, President and CEO, GE Europe & North Asia and CEO of GE Germany; Zhengrong Liu, Global Head of Human Resources, Lanxess AG; and Jan Mühlfeit, Chairman of Microsoft Europe.

We are also pleased to announce that Professor Dr. Jürgen Stark, Member of the European Central Bank's Executive Board, will give the keynote address at the event’s concluding dinner.

AmCham Gemany members are also invited to a reception on the eve of the event, November 8, 2011, to be held on the floor of the Board of Managing Directors in the Commerzbank Tower at the invitation of Dr. Eric Strutz, Member of the Board of Managing Directors of Commerzbank AG.
