Objective of the Prize and Selection Criteria

To emphasize the importance of transatlantic communications and advertising, journalism and public relations, AmCham Germany launched the AmCham Transatlantic Media & Communication Award in the year 2010.  The awards ceremony for the AmCham Transatlantic Media & Communication Award is both an integral part of the Annual Membership Meeting and a highlight of the global event concept.

The prize honors special services in the areas of media and communication. The field of media includes print, radio and social media. Communications is composed of disciplines in photography, design, film and art. The prize is an interdisziplinary award.

Winners may range from an established person or a newcomer from Germany or the United States and fulfils the following criteria:

  • The awardee has, through work or personal actions, demonstrably promoted and positively changed transatlantic exchange.
  • The awardee is a role model and has found new and innovative ways of communication.
  • His/her work has economic relevance.
  • The awardee is an outspoken representative of German-American relations.
  • The awardee will personally attend the ceremony.
  • The prize is awarded by a jury. The jury has 7 members and a jury chairman.
