I am a member of the American Chamber, because…
… most people I meet who are members of AmCham share the same values both business and personal. They are openminded and have a positive, optimistic outlook and view of the future. It is very much a “can do” organisation and the members shape it the way it is. A shared positive view of the US forms the foundation for this likeminded approach towards most issues. That’s why I am a member of AmCham and enjoy helping develop the organisation further as a member of its Executive Board.

What I like best about the US is…
… the hospitality, friendliness and the positive attitude of the people. There is always an air of optimism around, the glass is most certainly always half full and never half empty. Most things (within reason) are permitted (unlike many central european coutries where much is prohibited).

If I could improve something about the US, I would…
… make more pavements so that you can walk more; improve the healthcare system to be available to all (currently adressed); make the country less litigous…

I love my job, because…
… I love the combination of shipping and finance which is precisiely what my company is involved in. Dealing with young, motivated and highly educated members of staff is an additional pleasure.

If I could fulfill a personal dream, I would…
… revalidate my pilots license and take six moths off, flying either from lake to lake in Canada or alternatively bush flying in Africa.

Capital Holding is an investment group based in Hamburg, Germany. Through its investment house Nordcapital the group structures and finances long-term assets via closed-end funds in shipping, real estate and renewable energy and invests in private equity.
