AmCham Gemarny's Business After Hours at Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG

Coca-Cola is the world's most valuable brand and is present in approximately 200 countries worldwide. In Germany, Coca-Cola employs more than 10.000 people in more than 80 distribution facilities.

Robert M. Cain, Chief Information Officer at Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG, gave an in-depth speech at Coca-Cola headquartes in Berlin about the success story of Coca-Cola. AmCham Germany's members and guests enjoyed afterwards the reception at the Coke Lounge overlooking the traditional illuminated Christmas Market on Gendarmenmarkt.

The Honorable William R. Timken, U.S. Ambassador to Germany, launched the so called White Paper "Germany and America: Facing Challenges Together" on November 12, 2008 at the Haus der Deutschen Wirtschaft in Berlin. Written in close cooperation with AmCham Germany, the Federation of German Industries- BDI- and the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the paper analyses the U.S.-German partnership within all aspects such as economic relations, employment, student exchange and cultural ties.

Speakers included Ambassador William R. Timken, Jürgen Thumann, President of the BDI, Carl Graf von Hohenthal, Chairman Regional Committee Berlin- Brandenburg.

AmCham Germany Business After Hours with WINDROSE Air

After long controversies, the Berlin airport Tempelhof will be closed on October 31, 2008. The history of Berlin, from the National Socialist period through the war and the airlift and right up to reunification, is reflected in the Tempelhof Airport building, which is a registered historical monument. The historical guided tour through the airport building was followed by a networking reception with Windrose Air.

"What drives the US Election 2008? After Texas and Ohio, latest trends, tendencies and outlook on German-American- Ties", was the topic of the 2nd AmCham Germany Election Talk hosted at the Max Liebermann Haus in Berlin. Prominent speakers such as John M.Koenig, Deputy Chief of Mission US Embassy, Hans-Ulrich Klose, MdB and Dr. Thomas Greven, Free University Berlin, gave a survey of the parties'candidates and evaluated the relevance of possible election results on German-American-Ties. Moderated by Alison Smale, the International Herald Tribune was the prime media partner for this event.

Business After Hours Forum at KPM Welt

Jörg Woltmann, owner of one of the world's oldest and accomplished porcelain manufactories, was the keynote speaker at an AmCham Germany Business After Hours Event. " In 2006, Mr Woltmann positioned the "Königliche Porzellan -Manufaktur", vested by Friedrich the Great in 1763,   again in the luxury segment. In his speech " From Portfolios to Porcelain" he gave the audience an insight of how to bring a traditional enterprise back on the cultural and economic map. After his speech,  AmCham members and guests enjoyed a guided tour through the exhibition at the exhibition "KPM Welt". The event was organised in cooperation with the "International Club Berlin" and kindly sponsored by KPM.

With about 300 guests from business, politics and culture AmCham Germany celebrated its traditional New Year’s Reception at the Automobil Forum Unter den Linden in Berlin. Bestseller author and TV-moderator Peter Hahne enriched the evening with an interesting and lively speech about the meaning of cultural values and education for society and economic success. Recognizable American songs by the quartet “Latest Edition” topped off this event, wishing all AmCham members and guests a happy, healthy and successful 2007!

AmCham Germany Seasonal Dinner for Family and Friends

Berlin, November 30, 2006.

AmCham Germany invited family and friends for this year’s Seasonal Dinner, a “fusion” event, featuring both German and American traditions, turkey and goose, as well as other holiday treats in a generous seasonal buffet. The evening took place in the cozy Liebig-Gewölbe at the Harnack-Haus in Dahlem, which played not only an important role in the history of science in Germany, but for fifty years it also served as the U.S. Army’s Officer’s Club. Simonetta Ginelli, the solo harpist who has taken the Berlin club and fashion scene by storm, contributed to this pleasant evening with her extraordinary musical repertoire. The first prize of the raffle drawing were 2 business class tickets Berlin - New York (JFK), sponsored by Delta Air Lines.

Sommertreffen internationaler Wirtschaft in Berlin

Berlin, August 22, 2006.

A new forum for Berlin's international business community met for the first time at the European School of Management and Technology (esmt) in downtown Berlin on August 22. The event was helmed by the Konferenz Internationaler Wirtschaftsverbande in Berlin, an initiative of AmCham's Berlin Chapter and Ludwig von Reiche, chairman of the Berlin Hospitality Committee. The Konferenz currently includes six Berlin-based chambers of commerce as well as other organisations. Some 400 guests attended the event. Speakers discussed the political and infrastructure changes required for Berlin to develop a more proactive approach at attracting foreign investment, and the growing role of Berlin in Europe's network of business schools.
